Hōpara Week 2 Notices

Kia ora Hōpara Parents/Caregivers

We have had another positive week in Hōpara! This week has comprised of continuing to get to know each other, lots of swimming and preparing for our Wk3 Camp to Wainui! Thank you to the camp parents for attending our pre-camp meeting, we are very lucky to have them attending and experiencing this camp with us. 

Things to continue to remember.....


Clarkville App: 
Please make sure you have ticked the notifications area for Hōpara otherwise you will not receive alerts/notices. 

Subscriptions and payments for Mathletics and Reading Eggs are due by the 17th of February. Below are the links for the Jotforms. 



Devices - 
If your child has their own BYOD device they can now start to bring it to school.We will support them with getting it functioning on our school wifi. 

Togs - 
Children in Hōpara can now begin to bring these on daily basis. 

Summer Terms - It has been very hot over the last few days! Please ensure children are putting on sunscreen before school, bringing their hat, have their togs each day, and are armed with a drink bottle also.

Week 2 - Final Camp notice to be brought home/emailed

Week 3 - WEDNESDAY 12th TO FRIDAY 14th- Hōpara Camp at Wainui! (NOTE - there will be a notice with last minute reminders coming out next).

Week 4Ashley will be out of the classroom this week doing her Across Schools role (Linda will be in Hōpara)

-First week of Kapahaka begins 


WAINUI CAMP Packing List

Please do not underestimate the importance of this camp list. The weather in Wainui can change in an instant.
Items such as Polypropylene, waterproof jackets and woollen jumpers, are put on the list for a VERY specific purpose. These items MUST be included in your child’s gear bag. 

Absolutely ESSENTIAL - 
  • Warm sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • PJ’s
  • Toiletries
  • Insect repellent 
  • Beach towel AND Bath towel
  • Plate, cup, bowl and cutlery and a NAMED tea towel in a ROBUST carry bag please
  • Bags for wet/dirty gear
  • WATERPROOF raincoat
  • Warm polar fleece or woollen jumper
  • T-Shirts / sweatshirts
  • Shorts / track pants (both are essential)
  • Socks and underwear
  • Thermals / Polypro  
  • Togs
  • WARM hat (Beanie)
  • Sunhat
  • Sunscreen / sunglasses
  • Sneakers 
  • Sneakers (no crocs or boat shoes) for Coasteering (different to sneakers above)
  • Torch
  • Daypack with morning tea and lunch for Day 1 in lunch box.
  • Water bottle
  • Year 6 HOME BAKING in a named container
  • Year 5 Fruit in a named container

OPTIONAL:
  • Camera – NOT cell phones or iPods with cameras. 

NOT REQUIRED and if found will be confiscated - 
  • Cell phones, iPods, devices, or any electronic games or toys
  • Money
  • Jewellery
  • Pocket knives
