Hōpara T2 Week 10 Notices

We have had another fabulous week in Hōpara - although it has been very cold! Below Cooper has given you a recap of our week! 

Weekly student recap! 

In week 10 of school we did numerous things such as seed planting and our school cross country. Cross country was held at school on Wednesday it consisted of 5 - 7 laps of the whole school . In buddy groups we did seed planting it was where we planted seeds in egg trays . We would also wrote our names on popsicle sticks so we knew who grew the seed. Below are some pictures of our awesome week!

Reminders/things to know: 

Before and after school conversations - If you would like to talk to us about your child's learning or wellbeing we would appreciate you emailing one of us to make a specific time - this would provide us with enough time to collate and prepare any data required. 

Please bring your devices and headphones daily! 

 Learning Conferences - 

School finishes at 12:30pm on Monday, to kick off learning conferences

Please let Kathryn know if your child is absent by 9am. The quickest and easier way to do this is through the school app.

  Kia ora Hōpara Whānau  We have just reached the half way point of the term, gosh it has gone fast! We have had quite a bit of sickness in our class over the last fews, we thank those who have stayed home to reduce passing it on. This week we began our inquiry into bottle water, the students came up with a series of initial wonderings which they explored further. Week 7 Blog Post

 Kia ora e te Whānau  I hope your children have come home this week excited about their role in the upcoming production?! I know we are all excited for you to see it in action. Nick and myself have been sick over different days this week, we are lucky to have such an amazing class who behave for whoever is in front of them #grateful! As the next two week commences our core learning programme will get thinner due to the time frames we have, we are also mindful of not adding any extra stress to your children at this busy time!  Head-lice:  Let's keep on top of it until the end of the year with nightly checks - much appreciated Nick and Ashley  Sun Hats:  Could all parents please make sure their child has a blue bucket sunhat, the consequence now for not wearing a hat is sitting under the shade sail for the entire break time. Hо̄para Week 2 Term 4 Blog Post

Kia ora Hōpara whānau  Wow this week has been very eventful with students in Hōpara competing in the Duathlon and our annual athletics day. It was wonderful to see all of our team giving every event their best shot, encouraging each other and striving for personal excellence. Thank you to all of the parents that attended, this makes the day so much more special for the children!  I would also like the opportunity to introduce our two student teachers Zara Toohey and Ashley Nuttall. They are both 1st year students and have slotted into our space perfectly - we feel very lucky to have them with us for the next couple of weeks.  Production:  This has been underway with staff over the last few weeks and we are now at the stage where students will be selecting their "team item".
