Hōpara T2 Week 9 Notices

Kia ora Whānau!

We have had another fabulous week in Hōpara - although it has been very cold! Below Piper has given you a recap of our week!

Weekly student recap!

This week in Hōpara we have been doing lots of work! Last week we were finishing our experiment on how to "make it rain" in Auckland. After that we started to think of making ethical decisions. Lots of experiments failed and worked, now we had to make an ethical decision, which meant we needed to think of the consequences. We also had to ask ourselves key questions to make a decision, like will this make things better? and will this respect others? This took a lot of thinking in our groups to try and make a decision. Overall most of our experiments were causing harm. This was a great time to show our values in our learning. Two of the most values we used were positive relationships and experts at discovery, because we were thinking deep into what the consequences could be and also we weren’t just focusing on making it rain, but also thinking would this be right and could this cause more damage and money.

We have still been doing our learning log. We have maths and literacy every morning and we have to have to a reflection post it at the end of every second week. Our teachers are very supportive in our work and we have been keeping up to date very well. Our learning log is being shared to our parents on Seesaw, we have worked very hard on this, so please make sure you comment!

We are all very thankful that we’re all back at school!

Thank you
