Hōpara Week 9 Notice

Kia ora e te whānau

Wow this week has been incredibly busy in Hōpara! We have experienced the Nz Trucking Roadshow, Maori Language week and today we have an awesome Disco to attend!

In week 9 for inquiry we were delving into the differing perspectives of the "Chocolate trade". We looked at life as a Ghanan coco farmer and the stark contrast which is life as a coco bean trader. We investigated the fat content and melting point of dark chocolate vs milk chocolate, and found some interesting results. We would really appreciate if you could talk with your child about their understanding of the chocolate trade and some of the heavier issues related to it.

Over the coming week you will be receiving lots of SEESAW notifications for end of term assessments, please take the time to look at your child's progress and make a comment.

Below are some photos of our week....

Before and after school conversations - If you would like to talk to us about your child's learning or wellbeing we would appreciate you emailing one of us to make a specific time - this would provide us with enough time to collate and prepare any data required.

Please bring your devices and headphones daily!

Note from Kathryn -
Please let Kathryn know if your child is absent by 9am. The quickest and easier way to do this is through the school app.
