Hо̄para Week 1 Term 4 Blog Post

Kia ora Hо̄para Whanau

We hope you all enjoyed your holidays?! Hōpara students have returned to school with positive learning attitudes which has been awesome to see. This week we have been doing some initial testing, this was in fractions and decimals and spelling. Next week your child will be coming home with a list of words they got incorrect. These words all have the main spelling patterns that form a majority of words at different developmental stages. We have also been experiencing different athletics events daily and we look forward to our annual Athletics day next Wednesday...I hear there is going to be a coffee cart!!

As I'm sure you are all aware Thursday's often mean Coding and Science and this week students were coding a baseball game. We were very proud to say that 100% of students were able to complete this task. So if you get some time, ask your child to show you how the game works.

Good luck to the children competing in the duathlon on Monday!!

Reminders for next week:
Monday - Canterbury Duathlon
Wednesday - Clarkville Athletics Day Friday - Assembly

Ongoing reminders:

Hōpara website https://sites.google.com/clarkville.school.nz/hopara-2020/home?authuser=0. This will be our "one stop shop" for group tasks/follow ups.

Please remember to comment and give feedback on your child's SEESAW

Before and after school conversations - If you would like to talk to us about your child's learning or wellbeing we would appreciate you emailing one of us to make a specific time - this would provide us with enough time to collate and prepare any data required.

Please bring your devices and headphones daily!

Note from Kathryn -
Please let Kathryn know if your child is absent by 9am. The quickest and easier way to do this is through the school app.

Ngā mihi nui
