Hо̄para Week 3 Term 4 Blog Post
Kia ora Hōpara whānau
Another week has flown by in Hōpara! It was lovely having Monday off as a holiday, it gave us a the extra refresher that we need at this time of the term! This week we really delved deep into our core learning, our major focus for maths this term is fractions and in literacy we are really trying to build our language feature knowledge within poetry. Chill clubs has been busy this week, we have students recreating childhood games in digital forms on scratch, sport coaching, fashion design and academic studies. The children continue to be highly engaged with these projects which is exciting to see!
Head-lice - There have been a few emails late this week regarding head lice. Today your child will have come home with a notice asking you to check your child's hair. This really requires a team effort to get on top of it - please return the notice Monday next week and treat where needed.
Production: The children have select which "scene group" they would like to be in. Next week we will begin planning and meeting with our groups to get their ideas and opinions. Main character auditions will be on Monday and Friday (today). The students who put their names forward for these roles should have received an email with the requirements.
Sun Hats: Could all parents please make sure their child has a blue bucket sunhat, the consequence now for not wearing a hat is sitting under the shade sail for the entire break time. We really want to encourage our tamariki to be "sun safe".
Mon 2nd:Mana Ake drop in
Tues 3rd: Zones - approx 34 children but only 3 notices returned to date
Before and after school conversations - If you would like to talk to us about your child's learning or wellbeing we would appreciate you emailing one of us to make a specific time - this would provide us with enough time to collate and prepare any data required.
